Moka Pot

A concentrated stovetop recipe focused on sweetness, depth, and structure.

What you’ll need

  • Moka Pot
  • 20–30g coffee
  • Preheated water
  • Scale
  • Cup or server
  • Freshly ground coffee

Recipe

20–30g coffee

198–205°F water

Fine grind

Medium heat

Extraction

Preheated water

Slow stovetop brew

Remove before sputtering

Method

Preheat water close to boiling before assembling the brewer.

Grind coffee fine, similar to espresso, and fill the basket evenly without compressing the bed.

Fill the lower chamber up to the safety valve using the preheated water.

Assemble carefully and place the brewer over medium heat.

Allow the coffee to rise gradually into the upper chamber.

Remove from heat once the chamber fills and before aggressive bubbling begins.

Serve immediately while warm and structured.
